Ukiah >> On April 11, Ukiah Community Concerts will be presenting pianist and internet sensation Kyle Landry at the Ukiah High School Cafetorium. His popularity has been soaring, with his videos having over 90 million views on YouTube.
Landry is a classically trained pianist and composer from Methuen, Massachusetts. His career in music includes original works for film, animation, video games and his own album releases. He holds a degree in Composition from the Hartt School of Music.
His passion for playing has generated a large fan base on YouTube, and he regularly posts videos to share with the world. Some of them have generated millions of views. Many of these videos are a result of his passion for arranging songs for solo piano. Some of the most popular arrangements include video game and anime music.
Currently, Kyle spends much of his time teaching piano. He also performs at events such as weddings, private concerts and conventions, including the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).
Kyle cites his number one musical influence as Frédéric Chopin. Other admired composers include J.S. Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Franz Liszt, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Gustav Mahler, Peter Tchaikovsky, Alan Menken, Joe Hisaishi, Nobuo Uematsu and Nikolai Kapustin.
