Who was Judas? Was he the worst man who ever walked the face of the earth? Or was he an instrument of God, helping Jesus fulfill his destiny? Does he deserve Grace? Or Punishment? What will John say when he is called to testify? Or Peter? Or Mary, Jesus’ Mother — what is her opinion of Judas?
Those who attend the community play “The Trial of Judas Iscariot” will look at the events of the last few days of that first Easter week. The testimony will be given by the witnesses as recorded in the Bible. It is a different way to look at and think about this important scripture and the events of that week. Consider this your Jury duty notice! Those who attend will deliver the verdict.
The trial will be held at Clearlake Community United Methodist Church, which is located at 14521 Pearl Avenue on the corner of Pearl and Mullen. Court will be called into session at 5 p.m. Participants will include actors and pastors from Clearlake Community United Methodist Church (UMC), Lower lake UMC and Middletown UMC.
