Clearlake >> An alleged narcotics offender reportedly took off running after a vehicle pursuit early Monday morning which began after an officer Travis Parson attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
The incident began at about 4:30 a.m. in the area of Acacia Street and Arrowhead Road when Parson noticed a black Dodge Charger speeding, according to Clearlake Police Department (CPD) Sgt. Rodd Joseph. Parson attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver, identified as Dylan Thomas Bacon, instead led the officer on a short pursuit that ended near the intersections of Sonoma Way and Woodland Drive.
Upon stopping, Bacon, 36, reportedly took off running, abandoning a woman in the passenger side, Joseph stated. He was not caught, however officers found more than 26 grams of suspected methamphetamine and almost 9 pounds of processed marijuana. Additionally, a scale and packaging materials were also located and the vehicle was impounded from the scene.
Investigators believe the evidence collected were in the occupants’ possession for the purpose of sale on the street.
Bacon has had numerous run-ins with law enforcement. He is required to register as a narcotics offender. He is also on felony probation out of Yolo County for narcotics and felony probation for burglary in Sacramento County.
The case will be submitted to the Lake County District Attorney’s Office for charges. Anyone with information on Bacon’s whereabouts is asked to contact Parson at 707-994-8251 ext. 507.
