CLEARLAKE OAKS >> Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two men in connection with a stabbing incident in Clearlake Oaks on Sunday.

At approximately 1:13 p.m, deputies were dispatched to the area of Elem Drive in for a report of someone brandishing a knife. While deputies were in route, a second caller reported a physical fight and a possible stabbing.

When deputies arrived they located a male subject with a puncture wound to his left side. The victim was transported by air ambulance to an out of county hospital for treatment. As of Monday afternoon the victim remained in the hospital in stable condition.

Deputies were able to locate several witnesses in the area. They were able to identify Matthew Shaun Williams and a 15-year-old male as two who were involved in the incident. Investigators learned from the witnesses that Williams had allegedly used the knife.

Deputies were able to locate both male suspects and take them into custody.

Williams and the 15 year old male were arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Williams was booked into the Hill Road Correctional Facility where he is still in custody with his bail set at $25,000. The 15 year old male was booked into the Lake County Juvenile Hall.

The motive for the attack is still unclear. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit are continuing the investigation and interviewing additional people who may have witnessed the incident or have knowledge of those allegedly involved.
