ROSEVILLE >> The North State Modified Series (NSMS) opens its second season April 18 at All American Speedway in Roseville. The 2015 tour features an 11-race series for IMCA-type modifieds at seven different race tracks.
NSMS has partnered up with Lucas Oil and Protect the Harvest this season and the driver’s purse will be supplemented by Swartz Diesel of Grass Valley and Sinister Diesel of Roseville.
The season opener at All American Speedway features the NSMS modifieds as they join the Pacific Challenge Series late models and the Northern California Pro-4 Modifieds for a full evening of racing action. An overflow field is expected.
After Roseville, the NSMS makes its debut on the quarter-mile oval at Lakeport Speedway on May 2. Then, after a three-week break, the series continues May 24 at Redwood Acres Raceway in Eureka as part of the Memorial Day weekend celebration.
The NSMS modifieds will join the Lucas Oil Modifieds on June 6 in their first appearance at Madera Speedway. This special event will be televised by MAVTV and will be running two separate feature events.
The series returns to All American Speedway on June 27 and will make it’s first visit to Ukiah Speedway on July 18. Another first for the modifieds will be an Aug. 8 trip to the Stockton 99 Speedway, then it’s back to Shasta Speedway on Aug. 22.
The month of September features another Redwood Acres Raceway holiday Sunday night event on Sept. 6, then it’s back to All American Speedway on Sept. 26. The possibility of an October show at Shasta is still in the planning stages.
The inaugural season for NSMS had 39 different drivers competing, with 24 in attendance at the final show in 2014. More cars are being built for the upcoming season.
