Middletown >> The Middletown Senior Center held its fifth annual March for Meals event on March 28. The day started off with a craft fair with vendors selling handcrafted jewelry, knits, and Scandinavian baked goods. More than two dozen sponsored walkers participated in the 1.9 miles march through town followed by a hot dog and hamburger lunch fundraiser back at the senior center.
March for Meals is a fundraising campaign for the Meals on Wheels program which provides warm meals to homebound seniors to help end hunger.
Jim Cissell, Cobb Meals on Wheels driver, raised more than $3,000 by collecting donations from sponsors all over Middletown and Hidden Valley Lake. In support of March for Meals Jim Comstock road along with Don Aleksa and Linda Aarons delivering meals to the Thursday Middletown Meals on Wheels recipients. The Middletown Senior Center raised $6,749 to help end senior hunger.
