Lakeport >> Bowlers expecting a few hours of league play found themselves locked out of the Lakeside Family Fun Center on Tuesday.
A note posted to the bowling alley’s Facebook page alluded to a breakdown in lease negotiations. The post suggested the center would reopen on April 14, however a number of layoffs have been reported.
Morning and evening league bowling had been scheduled for Tuesday. The rest of the week featured karaoke nights, a DJ and private parties, in addition to league competition.
The shutdown came without notice. Facility management had announced they were in the process of hiring staff. And on March 13 they had hosted the Lake County Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the renovation of Charley’s Club House Bar and Grill, located inside the center.
