Lake County >> The next Anderson Marsh nature walk, scheduled for Saturday morning, will be followed by a tour of the Historic Ranch House Museum.
Bring binoculars, sturdy shoes, water and sun protection. Meet in front of the Ranch House at 8:15 a.m. for time to experience the early morning wildlife to be found in the Ranch House and Barn complex yard. The walk will begin at 8:30 with a brief inside the South Barn.
Sharing their passion for the three histories contained within the Park – Native American, European-settler and Natural Park, Docents and AMIA board members Gae Henry and Henry Bornstein will lead the guided walk and Ranch House tour.
The walk may include parts of the Ridge, Marsh and Cache Creek trails. Many of the trees are beginning to leaf and flower. The recent rains will have encouraged wildflowers and the birds and bees are becoming active.
The walk will last approximately 2 hours and the tour of the historic Ranch House Museum will begin immediately after the walk. There is no charge and parking is free for those attending this event. Rain will cancel the walk and, if the walk is cancelled, a Ranch House complex tour will begin at 8:30.
Anderson Marsh State Historic Park is located on Highway 53 between Lower Lake and Clearlake.
