Lakeport >> The Clear Lake High School (CLHS) Band Boosters Club is seeking donations to fund attendance to upcoming events, equipment upgrades, and instrument maintenance, repair and replacement.

The organization is seeking to upgrade the band’s current 1980s model mixing board with a newer one. This piece of equipment is used on a daily basis for more than 230 middle and high school students.

Additionally, performances and enrichment trips are planned in upcoming weeks, however the band’s current budget doesn’t cover the cost of attendance for all students. The first trip, scheduled for some time this month to the Sonoma State University Clinic and Spring Concert, will take the budding musicians to a clinic by Dr. Collinsworth, the director of bands at the university, and the Spring Concert itself.

On April 15, the CLHS Band will hold their own Spring Concert. This is the final full concert for the school year and gives special recognition to graduating seniors. The band will also participate in the Memorial Day parade, scheduled for May 23, as well as a special CLHS graduation performance on May 29.

Preparations are also being made to attend a performance of Phantom of the Opera in San Francisco in September, with a focus on performance and stage production.

Checks can be made payable to CLHS Band Boosters Club and may be mailed or dropped off at Clear Lake High School, 350 Lange St., Lakeport, CA 95453. Donators who include a return address will receive a tax donation receipt for their records.

For information on the band or fundraising, contact Club President Norine Camacho at 262-0334 or camachna@sutterhealth.org, or Treasurer Melody De Leon at 263-6111 or melody@deleonengineering.com.
