Middletown >> The next meeting of the Middletown Luncheon Club will be held on April 15 at noon at the Middletown Senior Center.

Earthquakes and droughts disrupt our water supply and, without water, all living things are doomed. We need to understand and properly manage this precious resource. The Middletown Luncheon Club’s speaker of the month, John Hamner, general manager of Callayomi County Water District (CCWD), will give us the tools to do just that.

In light of last year’s earthquake in Napa, Hamner will bring us up-to-date on what we can do to be prepared for a short-term water outage. He will also address Governor Jerry Brown’s conservation requirements and what they mean to us in Lake County. Finally, he will bring us current on CCWD’s actions for obtaining a new well and water storage tank.

Lunch will be served by the senior center. The program will end promptly at 1 p.m. For $5 per person, enjoy a picnic-style lunch of BBQ pork sandwiches with sweet potato fries and a green salad. Reservations are required.

Call 987-3113 or email middletownluncheonclub@gmail.com for information or to make a reservation. The Middletown Senior Center is located at 21256 Washington St. in Middletown.
