LAKEPORT >> Tim Johnston of Kalispell, Montana, edged out Brent Shores of Boise, Idaho, for top individual honors on Friday as the third and final round of the 2015 B.A.S.S. Nation Western Divisional wrapped up on Clear Lake.
Johnson brought 17 pounds, 14 ounces to the scales on the final day to finish with 50-14. Shores, the second-round leader, finished with 50-4.
Rounding out the top five on the leader board were Larry Triplett (Colorado) with 49-12, Steven Wilson (California) with 48-0, and Davick Hansen (Utah) with 44-12.
Johnston automatically advances to the B.A.S.S. Nation Championship next March at Grand Lake, Oklahoma. He’ll be joined by the leaders from the 10 other states that participated in the Western Divisional.
The weigh-ins all three days of the tournament, which opened Wednesday, took place at the Konocti Vista Casino Marina.
