Lower Lake >> Lower Lake Elementary is looking for local groups with a history in Lake County to bring a display or activity to a history night, themed, “Together We are Lake County!” at Lower Lake Elementary on April 23 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The school will have hands-on activities for students and their families, as well as displays from the Gibson Museum and the School House Museum. Some of the activities will include: writing with quill and ink on parchment paper, making mini-catapults; beeswax candles; paper and combs from thistle heads. Participants will also be able to count tree rings and dye cotton, as well as other activities.

The event aims to encourage students to enjoy history. Teachers will lead stations that are more curriculum-based, but organizers are hoping that groups from outside of the school can bring something to show that represents their group’s role in the area.

If you are interested or have questions, contact event facilitators Lori Kincaid at lori.kincaid@konoctiusd.org or Sharon Vizena at sharon.vizena@konoctiusd.org.
