Shyanne Chapin (above) and the Clear Lake Cardinals hope to avenge their only North Central League I loss to date when they host the Cloverdale Eagles, two-time defending league champions, today at 4 p.m. in Lakeport. Cloverdale pitcher Teanne Edens dominated the first go-around between the two teams on March 24 when she threw a two-hitter and struck out 13 in the Eagles’ 2-0 victory at Cloverdale. The Eagles have won the last five meetings between the two teams, that after a long streak of Clear Lake victories. The two teams won’t meet again this season since Clear Lake is competing in the North Coast Section Division V playoffs this year and Cloverdale belongs to Division IV. Lower Lake (3-0), a third party in this year’s NCL I race, has yet to play either Clear Lake or Cloverdale this season.
