LAKEPORT >> U.S. Rep. Mike Thompson had planned to celebrate National Library Week at the Lake County Library in Lakeport today. Due to legislative business in Washington, D.C., however, Thompson will be unable to participate in this afternoon’s reading.
Thompson had been scheduled as the special guest at the library’s weekly “Story Time Program” held every Friday. In place of the congressman, Story Time Coordinator Barbara Green will read to the group at the regularly scheduled time, 3 p.m. Between 15 and 30 children, kindergarten to second grade, attend the “Story Time Program.” Special guests read a favorite story to the children.
