LAKEPORT >> The North State Modified Series (NSMS) visits the Lakeport Speedway for the first time on Saturday night. It’s the second in a series of 11 points races for the IMCA-type modifieds, which compete at seven different tracks. This is their only stop at Lakeport in 2015.

The NSMC began its second season with 24 cars earlier this month at the All American Speedway in Roseville. Rich Lindgren of Rio Linda won the $1,000 feature race. Lindgren is the current points leader and is followed by Anderson driver Cody Braund, Redding’s Michael Morrison and Sacramento’s Jason Philpot.

The NSMS drivers will be joined by many of the local Stahl modified drivers, which should mean a full field for the 60-lap feature race.

Also on Saturday’s racing card are the bombers, Jammers and Legends Cars. Gates open at 5 p.m.

For more information visit the North State Modified Series facebook page or call 274-1662.
