SANTA ROSA >> Lower Lake High School senior sprinter Isazah King won the 200 meters and finished second in the 100 on Saturday during the 26th annual Viking Class track meet at Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa.

Many other Lower Lake athletes established personal-best times or marks during the competition.

Among the boys, Francisco Rocuant grabbed the early lead in the 1,600. Both he and David Kincaid set personal bests with times of 5 minutes, 30 seconds and 5:33, respectively. Everardo Chavez improved his times in all three of his events, running 2:07 in the 800, 4:46 in the 1,600 and 10:58 in the 3,200.

David Fernandez competed in both the 100 and 200 along with teammate King.

Among the Lower Lake girls, freshman Haley Wade cleared 12 feet, 8 inches in the long jump and posted times of 14.36 seconds in the 100 and 29.95 in the 200. Mariah Bickham won her heat in the open 400 and had a personal-best leap of 13-10 in the long jump.

Lower Lake hosts a Coastal Mountain Conference meet today at 3:30 p.m. Visiting teams include Clear Lake, Willits, Fort Bragg and Rincon Valley Christian.
