Ukiah >> A veterans resource fair and legal clinic will be held Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Hall. Attendance to the resource fair is free and open to the public; however, appointments are required for the legal clinic.
This event will bring together the following community partners to assist veterans: Project Uniform; Ukiah Bicycle Kitchen, with equipment and volunteers available to help veterans fix their bicycles; Vet to Vet; Clean Slate Project of Northern California Legal Services, veterans must bring their RAP sheet to receive assistance; Ridgewood TRAIL Riders—Heroes with Horses; CalFresh, bring low income verification to apply for food stamps; The North Bay Veterans Resource Center; Veterans Service Office; Employment Development Department; NCO Volunteer Network; The Consolidated Tribal Health Project; and Redwood Caregivers Resource Center.
The free legal clinic is being provided by OneJustice’s “Justice Bus Project” in partnership with the Ukiah Veterans Outpatient Clinic and Lesley Snyder, notary from eMendocino, to provide individuals in need of assistance with end of life planning. During the clinic, volunteer attorneys will meet one-on-one with clients to prepare estate planning documents, including Power of Attorney for Finance, Advance Healthcare Directives and Simple Wills. Veterans with existing estate planning documents can bring them to the clinic to be reviewed and updated if needed. To make an appointment for the legal clinic, call (415) 834-0100 ext. 318.
