Hiding from the fact

With the uproar about dealing with Iran over its producing nuclear weapons or not, the reality is it doesn’t change the fact that the world is going to have future wars in many different areas. There will be more threats, arguments, horrific violence and deaths to deal with during those conflicts. Same old, same old. The world powers have put aside the use of nuclear weapons, deadly gases, as both do not bring the profits of wars to those who profit from war. By following the money, you will soon learn that war is far more a business then most folks can and do imagine.

The NRA — the National Rifle Association — has a leadership that serve as spokespersons for allowing the ever growing death rates in our civilian populations and profits for the weapons manufactures of this and other countries. They continue due to outdated laws and fear to keep an industry as profitable as possible. Common sense tells us that in reality, the gun nuts are a minority and have never spoke honestly for those who do enjoy the spot of hunting for game. But the NRA champions the views of the nut case members as the views of most of their membership. Total bull!

Our president’s move to use drones over bombs, and other heavy duty weapons and feet on the ground to deal with the terrorist who are causing the most criminal violence around the world today is under attack because such use brings far less profits to the war profiteers to gain far more profits. It is simple to understand that a the weapon that causes the least amount of deaths to the innocent bystanders, are the drones.

The simple truth of the matter is, if the world wants to lower the horror of war they must agree to close down and outlaw the manufactures of military weapons, period. The world has put aside the use of nuclear chemical weapons for humanitarian reasons, why not all military designed and used weapons. The true reason, the fear of losing the jobs in the weapons manufacturing sector of the most industrialized nations and the effect of doing so on the economies of the world.

This says, as smart as we are, we can’t come up with new and different types of employment to replace those types of jobs. That is pure bunk! Those replacement jobs are spread out over vast areas of needs, needs that would lift the living standards of a vast amount of our worlds citizens. Affordable transportation, food supplies, energy needs, water supplies, and environmental improvements as well as health care for both the sick and elderly.

Until the citizens of the world act in ways that close the doors of the military/industrial complexes that profit a few, but bring heartache and sorrow to the majority of this worlds citizens, we will never move beyond this 1,000 year war we have embarked on. We have only been in this war for the last 72 years, so if we do nothing to put a stop to it, then get used to it and just take what is going on right now as no big deal.

Quit pretending that the sorrow of war and its victims mean anything to us. Unlike natures devastating events that we can not control, this one we can and just aren’t doing it. It’s a simple fact.

We will find out

In the discussion about whether or not what the Bible says is true or what the atheist says is true or what the believer in reincarnation says is true it is important to put the debate in context: we are all just one breath away from finding out.

Communication

Regarding a judge’s instructions to a jury, in communication one must take into consideration both the sending and receiving capacities involved. The judge looks back on educated parents, a childhood in a nice home filled with books, followed by a degree in law school. The average juror may or may not have a high school education and comes from a home of uneducated parents with all the everyday exposure to ignorance that implies. His vocation may require very little knowledge or training useful to a juror. He puts a meaning on the instructions different than the judge intends. An analogy might be that of a radio broadcasting station capable of sending in frequencies 10 to 20 sending messages to a receiving set capable of receiving in frequencies 3 to 5.
