Lakeport >> The 1963 comedy, “It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad World,” screens on May 12 with show times at 1 and 6 p.m.
With this all-star Cinerama epic, producer/director Stanley Kramer vowed to make “the comedy that would end all comedies.” Virtually every lead, supporting, and bit part in the picture is filled by a well-known comic actor: Jimmy Durante, Sid Caesar, Edie Adams, Milton Berle, Ethel Merman, Dick Shawn, Buddy Hackett, Mickey Rooney, Jonathan Winters, Phil Silvers, Peter Falk and Eddie “Rochester” Anderson. Spencer Tracy plays the only “serious” role as the honest police detective who keeps a watchful eye on all the shenanigans.
