Lower Lake High School junior Ashlynn Mock plays in the infield, outfield and also pitches for the Lower Lake Trojans on those rare occasions when staff ace Shelbie Harris needs a break. Regardless of where she starts in the field, Mock hits the ball all the time and with a good amount of authority. Through Lower Lake’s first 21 games this season — the Trojans are 17-4 — Mock leads Lake County batters with 35 hits and 31 RBIs. “Her approach at the plate has been fantastic,” Lower Lake coach Chris Emberson said. “She’s worked real hard to make herself into a better hitter and that hard work has paid off. I couldn’t be any prouder of her.”
