Led by head coach Zane Jensen, the undefeated Clear Lake High School varsity baseball team is 21-0 and counting in 2015. With three games to go in the regular season and the North Coast Section Division V playoffs to follow, the Cardinals are inching closer to a perfect season, which would be the first for a county baseball team in at least the last 30-plus years. Clear Lake’s softball team went 27-0 in 2007 while winning North Central League I and North Coast Section Division IV championships. Clear Lake hits the road on Friday to play Fort Bragg. If the Cardinals win, they’ll clinch a second straight undisputed league title. In fact, all three Clear Lake High ball teams — varsity baseball, junior varsity baseball and softball — enter Friday’s action atop the league standings.
