Lake County >> Women got into the safari theme with zebra stripes, cheetah spots, giraffe prints and all manner of wild life portrayed in their dress for the Mad Hatter’s Luncheon and Fashion Show on April 25. The annual event is hosted by the Lakeport Women’s Civic Club (LWCC) at The Lodge at Blue Lakes.
On hand for the event and to help host were Miss Lake County Marumi Mitchell and Miss Outstanding Teen Bella Mattina.
In addition to the luncheon of tri-tip and chicken Caesar salad, members of the group modeled outfits provided by Anna’s Boutique in the Clearlake Riviera and Lisa’s Boutique of Clearlake.
One of the highlights of the day was the raffle of more than 35 baskets of goods and services donated by businesses and individuals. There was also a live auction for tickets to a Giant’s baseball game, vacation get-aways and meals provided by chefs. Giovanna Lanfear sported a spectacular hat with a lion head peeking through the flowers and brush adorning her head.
The Mad Hatter’s Luncheon and Fashion Show is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the LWCC with all of the proceeds going to support Lake County community projects and services to residents. For more information about the group, contact Cheryl Robbins at 263-3445.
