Upper Lake >> With its covered sidewalks, antique stores and a renovated hotel that was once a stage stop in the 1800s, the town of Upper Lake will celebrate its western heritage on June 6 with Wild West Day on Main Street.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature a costume and beard contest, a parade at 10 a.m., antique engines, children’s carnival and The Blue Canyon Gang with their western skits. Live music will take place from 1 to 4 p.m.

There will be street vendors, an annual pancake breakfast served by Northshore Fire Support, a tri-tip barbecue prepared by the Upper Lake High School Booster Club and wrestling team and a strawberry ice cream social.
