Lakeport >> The season for the Westshore Pool takes place from June 1 to Aug. 1.
The pool will be open Monday through Saturday noon to 5 p.m. Children 1 year and younger enter free. Tickets for children 2 to 17 years old cost $3, adult tickets cost $4, seniors receive a discount price of $2 and a family day pass for two adults and three children costs $15.
Swimming lessons will also be available. The Swim Safe Program helps teach children lifesaving skills of swimming. The program is intended to develop a comfort in and around the water as well as a readiness for learning to swim. Note these classes are not through American Red Cross. Pool staff will not issue Red Cross swimming certifications cards at the end of the session. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday in two week sessions. Beginners are 30-minute blocks and advanced beginners are one-hour sessions.
Classes take place June 08 through July 30. Class registration is on a first come first serve basis. Participants must be 3 years and older and potty trained. Lessons cost $60 per child and include eight classes for the two-week session. Enrollments are limited.
There is also a time for lap swim is for participants who are using the facility for exercise, training for event, etc. This is available Monday through Thursday from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. for $2 per day. Children 10 years of age and older may participate but must follow lap swim rules, no diving, jumping, yelling and no horse play.
Punch card passes buy eight entries with two free included. The cost is $16 for lap swim, $24 for a youth, $32 for an adult and $16 for a senior pass.
