Lake County >> Featured on the Clear Lake Trowel and Trellis Garden Club’s “Hidden Gardens of Lake County” Garden Tour on May 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. is the garden of Dr. Scheidemann on a hill-top Spanish-style estate in Lakeport. This home was custom designed in the 1990s by a San Francisco architect for Barney Forbes. It is situated in the southern portion of Scotts Valley and has a spectacular view of the valley and the lake.

Since the land was purchased, improvements have been made along with landscaping of the grounds, the most notable of which is the palm tree nursery. As you drive up the winding paved driveway, you see many types and sizes of palm trees, all of which are adaptable to this climate. At the main house you can view much larger palms. This vantage point offers striking views of Clear Lake and the valley.

For information or to purchase tickets by mail, email gardentour@clttgc.org or call 279-0192 -cash or check only. Download the event flier that includes gardens that will be visited and other event details at www.clttgc.org.
