Lake County >> During the week of March 16-20, Zemorah Christian Academy student Michele Bautista was a contestant at the Accelerated Christian Education Pacific Coast Regional Convention in Riverside. Over 325 students ages 13 through 18 competed in over 120 areas of competition including academics, art, photography, sewing, athletics, music and drama.
Bautista, an eighth grade student at Zemorah, placed third in Illustrated Storytelling, first in Social Studies Research, first in Color Character Trait Photo, and first in Dress Coordinates (Sewing).
This is quite an accomplishment for a first year competitor. She now qualifies to take her winnings to an International Convention in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the week of May 23-28. Michele needs to raise approximately $600. If anyone would like to donate to this endeavor, call Debra Fiedler at 994-4206 or mail to P.O. Box 430, Lower Lake, Ca 95457.
