LAKEPORT >> Track records fell in the Taco Bell Bomber, Stahl Racing Modified, Budweiser Outlaws and mini-stocks divisions last weekend during the Memorial Day racing show at the Lakeport Speedway.
The racing card ended with a fan-favorite boat race won by Ken Corner. Second place and best of show went to Evan Smith, while third place went to John “Cowboy” Moore.
In other racing action:
Legends Cars
Bill Kistenmacher built a big lead and went on to win the Legends Cars main event in front of Cody Barba, Ian Elliott and Mike Brummit.
Barba set the fast time (13.788 seconds) and won the heat race.
Modifieds
The Stahl Racing Modified division was all about Charlie and Mike Collins. Charlie won the main event ahead of Mike Neilsen, Eric Johnson, Mike Collins and Cameron Austin. He also won the first heat race. Mike Collins broke the track record with a qualifying lap of 12.386 seconds.
Other higlights were Neilsen’s victory in the second heat race and TJ Buzzard’s win in the trophy dash.
Mini-stocks
Billy Shaul set a track record (13.541) during qualifying before going on to win the main event in front of Matt Preston, Roy Ingalls Jr., Dave Aceves and Mike Peterson Jr.
Aceves took the checkered flag in front of Peterson Jr., Ingalls Jr., Shaul and Preston in the heat race.
Outlaws
Ron Duke Jr. dominated the field in the Outlaws main event, crossing the finish line in front of Danny Helm, Trystan Mucci, Rob Loucks and Sierra Furia.
Furia set a track record (12.429) during qualifying and won the heat race.
Jr. Jammers
Justin Helm set the fast time (15.361) during Jr. Jammers qualifying and went on to finish first in the heat race and main event. Brandi Robertson took second in both races and Steven Sprague was third.
Pro Jammers
Kody Huber won the main event and the second heat race in the Pro Jammers division. Roy Ingalls Jr. set the fast time (14.832) while Gene Odell Jr. won the first heat race.
In the main event, Hubert took the checkered flag in front of Justin Morgan, Ryan McGough, David Rogers and Gene Odell Sr.
Bombers
Bradley Brackett qualified in a track-record time of 13.987 and came back later in the night to win the main event in front of Forrest Kuecker, Trystan Mucci, Casey Blocher and Robert Taylor.
Heat race victories went to Kevin Brackett and Dustin Kuhl.
Racing action continues Saturday night at the Ukiah Speedway. The lineup consists of bombers, Outlaws, mini-stocks, Bandoleros and the first appearance of the NorCal Drifters from Sonoma Speedway. The Drifters made their first appearance two weeks ago at Lakeport Speedway.
