Lake County >> A Hay Bale Decorating Contest is coming to Lake County. This community event is designed to encourage individuals, families, groups, 4-H and FFA Clubs, schools and local businesses to get involved in the fun and show their support of the Lake County Fair, and turn a simple hay bale into a work of art.
Entered participants will receive a hay bale to decorate to celebrate the Lake County Fair. Hay bales will be displayed throughout the entire county and on the fairgrounds during the Lake County Fair. All entries will be judged and participants can win cash prizes, with first prize winning $200. Everyone gets a ribbon.
Entries opened June 1, with hay bales available for pick up during Spring Fair June 12 – 14. Entries for this contest will close July 13. Hay bales must be picked up by no later than July 20. Hay bales will be judged July 27 – 29 and must be ready for display by August 3.
