Ukiah >> Local author Hank Smith will give an author talk at the Ukiah Library on Wednesday, June 17 at 7 p.m. Hank’s memoir is called, “Sticks and Stones: A Father’s Journey Into Autism.” Without avoiding the grim realities, Sticks and Stones is filled with love, humor and most of all, optimism. At its heart, it is a love story about a father and his son.
Smith teaches kindergarten at Upper Lake Elementary School. He and his son, Ian, share their story with parents and educators throughout California in a series of well-received workshops and keynote addresses.
