The lame doctrine
This is in response to Stacey Salvadori’s “The ruling doctrine” letter to editor, June 10. Our state has no sponsored religion, it is secular. There is a distinction between Humanism, the secular aligned philosophy of reason and ethics over dogma, and religious humanism, the integration of humanist ethics and religious beliefs. The United States Supreme Court has not ruled Humanism is a religion, as was held in Peloza v. Capistrano School District (9th Cir. 1994). You may be confusing the Supreme Court’s ruling from Fellowship of Humanity v. Co. Alameda (1957) that ruled non-theistic organizations whose activities are analogous to religious churches are entitled to the same tax exemption. These are the misconceptions at the heart of your frustration.
To complain of censorship while having one’s opinions frequently published is immensely amusing. If you are experiencing difficulties finding Christian material at your library, we’d advise you ask the reference desk for assistance. According to the electronic catalog, there appears to be an ample selection. Ave satanas.

Words mean something
I am just a simple man who works on the KISS theory (Keep It Simple Stupid), and I am not a great historian. But I look at Germany, Japan and S. Korea and I see stable governments friendly to the U.S.. Back in the good old days we steered these countries to our way of democracy.
I will always remember President Ronald Reagan’s ‘Tear down that wall, Mr. Gorbachev’ speech and the Berlin Wall came down. And I think that speech had a lot to do with the freeing of E. Berlin. My good friend Guff says my view is a little distorted, but that’s my memory of that. I am not perfect, just ask my wife. Then I look at N. Korea, Iran and now Iraq and I see miserable conditions run by corrupt despots. Then I look at how this administration is handling the situation and I and a host of conservatives just ask why is this happening this way? We are the most powerful and influential country on this planet, with some of the best minds and yet we screwed up in Iraq following a complete victory. Yet you look at Iraq now and it is in total chaos and we are not helping? Even the top minds in Washington D.C. say ISIS is trying to smuggle a nuclear device thru Latin America and across the Mexican Border and yet this administration seems to be oblivious of this threat. Logically I have to fault this administration’s policy! I have concluded this with some of the best conservative minds echoing these thoughts. ISIS is a threat to the USA and yet we seem to be just stumbling along without any leadership. To me this just mimics the Carter era.
As far as the Clintons, they have had a sordid past, especially when it comes to Bill Clinton. Yet you on the left seem to dismiss this as nothing. Well I hold that the House of Representatives impeached him, the Courts disbarred him, he spend an estimated $12 million in attorney fees to try to dodge it and yet he is the darling of the Dem Party. I wouldn’t be associated with him yet he flies around with a convicted sex offender and no one says a word! What is wrong with this? Everything! Have you on the left no morals? The Clintons have a questionable past and the new revaluations of the Clinton Foundation need to be investigated, but it won’t happen because they have more money than God to not make it happen.
And as they always say, money talks. To you on the left who blindly will follow Hillary Clinton off the cliff without properly vetting her, you will reap what you sow. If Hillary had an R (Rep) behind her name there would be 10 separate investigations going on. And if you on the left think I am the only one asking these questions, I think you will be in for a big surprise.
And to show you how out of touch the Dem voters are, some gal said she was going to vote with her vagina for Hillary Clinton. This ought to be interesting.
Mr. Champagne’s letter to the editor on 6/2/15 expounds the Dems accomplishments yet he does not explain why California is $840 Billion out of funding CalPers. Where is California going to come up with $840 Billion? Oh that’s right, the taxpayers. The fire captain will retire at $225k per year. The retirement system is a Ponzi scheme not only echoed by me but some of the best economists in the world, and President Obama has doubled the national debt in 6 years on his own from $9 to $18 trillion. Now how is this a great Dem platform? Dems have run places like Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore, and city after city into the worst cities People out of work, on welfare, having to live on food stamps, and the black unemployment rate of 25 percent, is that victory? Not in my book. They are cesspools run by Dems and these are the people they are supposed to be protecting.
Joe Manson was right when he challenged President Obama on giving illegal aliens Obamacare. California wants to do this and in some instances it will be free. Manson was right because the left will play the race card over and over again. As in “well you can’t do that, it’s racist denying illegals health insurance.” What part of illegal in illegal alien don’t you understand?
