UPDATED:

Lakeport >> The Lake County Planning Commission approved the tentative parcel map for the division of a lot that used to be a manufactured home sales location at 1235 Mountain Drive in Lakeport, bordering Highway 29’s west side. The original parcel of 4.33 acres is to be split into one 2.26 acre and one 2.06 acre lots. Before the final map can be approved, the county’s Environmental Health Department will have to evaluate the well that’s already on-site to determine if it contains enough water to supply both parcels. Since the lot has already been substantially developed under previous ownership, no significant environmental impact is expected. As such, a mitigated negative declaration was adopted with a 4-0 vote in favor, with District IV commissioner Don Deuchar absent.

Also on the agenda, CDD Director Rick Coel requested continuance for the next hearing of the Valley Oaks Final Environmental Impact Report, stating that the process of assembling all the needed documentation and paperwork took staff longer than expected. That item was continued to the June 25 meeting at 9:05 a.m.

Closing the meeting, the commission reviewed details of an extensive revision of the General Plan that is in the works in an attempt to simplify the document and make it more accessible. Staff is working on digitizing the document to make it available online as part of the reorganization project. Content is being reorganized into fewer groupings to better link related topics within the plan. Staff stated that the design for the new document was roughly 80 percent complete, however because of time and staff constraints the final document is still a long ways from being completed.
