
FOREST GROVE, ORE. >> Former Clear Lake High School and Mendocino College baseball star Tanner Mansell recently completed a solid junior season for the Pacific University Boxers.
Mansell, a 2011 Clear Lake High School graduate, batted .321 in 35 games for the Boxers, including 21 starts as an outfielder or designated hitter. During a stretch late in the Boxers’ 21-19 season, Mansell went 7-for-19. Overall he had 27 hits in 84 at-bats with 18 runs and eight RBIs.
Pacific University, a private college, is located in Forest Grove, Oregon, about 24 miles west of Portland. The Boxers compete in the Northwest Conference and went 12-12 in 2015.
A physics major and math minor with the goal of becoming a civil engineer, Mansell is the son of Chuck and Jodi Mansell of Lakeport.
