
SANTA ROSA >> The 2015 edition of the annual Redwood Empire All-Star Basketball Game takes place June 27 at Rincon Valley Christian High School in Santa Rosa. Tip-off is 7 p.m.
Of the 20 seniors participating from the North Central League I, II and III as well as Archbishop Hanna of the SSBL, four are from Lake County. Brandon Huber of Kelseyville joins Middletown’s Cody Chorjel as well as Lower Lake’s Dustn Maritn and James Clark on the All-Star roster.
Huber and Chorjel were both All-NCL I second-team selections this past season while Clark was an honorable mention. Chorjel ranked third in Lake County in scoring at 14.1 points a game while Martin was fourth at 14.0. Huber averaged 11.6 points a game.
The All-Star contest will consist of two 20-minute halves. Coaches will draft 10-man teams prior to the game. All-Stars signed up for the game include Huber, Chorjel, Martin, Clark as well as Chris Saladin of St. Helena, Joel Gutierrez of Tomales, Nathan Gerhardt of Technology, Sean Kneeland of Sonoma Academy, Alex Padilla of Roseland Prep, Joe Lin and Daniel Maples of Rincon Valley Christian, Isiah Graham, Noah Thomas and Scott Duncan of Mendocino, John McMillan of Cloverdale, Erik Valencia of Calistoga, Elvis Gaxiola of Anderson Valley, and Armani Perry, Larry Michel and Jhe’neard Hemmingway of Archbishop Hanna.
There is an admission charge and a snack bar will be in operation. A girls’ All-Star game was canceled because of a lack of interest by Empire schools. It will return in 2016.
