CAL FIRE hosted live fire training for the Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit on Saturday near Clearlake. Operation Get Ready involved units from the Kelseyville, Northshore, South Lake, Lake County and Lakeport Fire Protection Districts. CAL FIRE set a 2 acre burn allowing for mobile attack, firing out, cutting hand line, dozer operation and coordination with a CAL FIRE helicopter. Two Lake County Fire Protection District ambulances were on hand, as firefighters battled heat and realistic conditions. More than 50 firefighters were involved in the exercises.
