Each week during the 2014-15 school year North Coast Opportunities provided nutritious food to over 200 Lake County families. The food backpack program, through a grant from Walmart, included alternatives such as gluten free, organic, and fresh vegetables that many students had never tried before. The food backpack program served 50-60 families in the Kelseyville School District and nearly 150 families in the Konocti School District. Tammy Alakszay and Robert Agoado (pictured) were instrumental in the program’s success. - Contributed Photo
