Middletown >> Officers discovered a lifeless body inside a vehicle linked to a missing woman on Wednesday morning. The discovery was made in a remote area off Jerusalem Grade.

A man called central dispatch at about 6:30 a.m. to report he found a gray Toyota 4Runner on his property that matched the description of the vehicle belonging to Helen Sharp, Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Lt. Steve Brooks stated. Sharp was reported missing on June 11, Through a license plate search, central dispatch was able to confirm Sharp was the registered owner, but deputies were not able to positively identify the woman inside.

A veterinarian with the Clearlake Veterinary Clinic, Sharp, 45, was last seen on June 10 in Middletown driving the Toyota. She is described as 5’4,” weighing 190 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

“The investigation of this case is ongoing and deputies are following up on all possible leads,” Brooks stated.

The LCSO is scheduling an autopsy to identify the woman and determine the cause of death.
