Three local high school seniors recently received scholarships from the California Association of Regional Occupational Centers and Programs (CAROCP) for Outstanding ROP Student.
The Lake County Office of Education Career & College Readiness Department delivered the awards to each of the schools for presentation during their award ceremonies.
Vinson Alameda of Lower Lake High was nominated by Auto teacher Bill Gabe. Alameda has a goal of becoming a diesel mechanic and plans to attend Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Sacramento this fall.
Bianca Arias of Kelseyville High was nominated by Culinary Arts teacher Tami Cramer. Arias plans to attend the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in the Napa Valley in the fall.
Janeé Swaney of Upper Lake High was nominated by Ag teacher Erica Boomer. Swaney will be attending Sacramento State University in the fall majoring in Electrical Engineering.
The $500 scholarship was divided amongst the three recipients, each receiving $166.66.
