Lakeport >> The next meeting of the Lake County Planning Commission is scheduled for Thursday, June 25.
The first item on the agenda, scheduled for 9:05 a.m., is a public hearing for the Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) for the Valley Oaks development project in Middletown. The hearing was originally scheduled for the June 11 meeting, but was continued by request of county staff to provide more time to prepare the necessary associated documentation. The last time the commission held a hearing on the project was on May 28. That meeting was meant to help familiarize the current commission members with the scope of the project, as only one current member, District V commissioner Gil Schoux, held position when the project was last reviewed in February 2009.
Should the planning commission certify the FEIR, they may then recommend to the Lake County Board of Supervisors to approve the project for further development.
The second item, scheduled for 10:15 a.m., is a public hearing for the consideration of amendments to the Lake County Zoning Ordinance that would establish age limits on what used manufactured homes can be installed on private property within the jurisdiction of the county. The proposal is being brought before the planning commission by Richard Coel, director of the Community Development Department.
