Stand up to the truth

If you truly would like to meet a person who symbolizes a great citizen of our nation, you only have to stand before the statue of Abraham Lincoln in Washington D.C. and see that person, hat in hand, head bowed, with watering eyes standing in front of it. Their names need not be known, but there in the shadow of our greatest leader, you will view a living example of what being a citizen of our nation represents.

At the same time, Mr. Lincoln is looking down at that person with the pride of seeing a citizen who is equal in every way to his fellow citizens. One party who gave his life, the other who is living their life, in their desire to embrace the American dream for a better future for those who will follow them, starving for the same heart filled goal.

Every citizen could fill the worn shoes of both persons who have earned the honor of the dream, but few in this day and age can say they have. The passing of time has allowed for most of us to have lost our way from the daily actions needed and followed to reach the American Dream.

We have bought into the bill of goods, sold to us by poor leadership, greed, self-importance and the lack of backbone to stand up to the lies, miss reputations and downgrading of the importance of fair and equal interactions’ with our fellow citizens and mankind in general. We have chosen profit over honor and righteousness, easy over difficult, hiding over standing tall, when faced with our everyday issues that take our principals and integrity to task. We stay silent when our voice and actions are needed. We have made being liked, more important than exposing those who belittle and harm our American Dream.

The past few days have offered a collective view of the short comings we continue to allow. We find a point of pride to forgive the actions of a person who simple presence amongst us is vile and disgusting. The media addresses this worm of a human being as “Mr.” We allow a flag of hate to be displayed, not just in the area this worthless animal carried out his horrific actions, but in so many other states across the lands of our nation. We allow hate groups to operated under the protection of an imperfect document that so desperately needs to upgraded.

We reap the feel good feeling of forgiving the scum balls who have caused such deep felt sorrow from their actions, which in truth, should never be offered. If not so, do we need to forgive the Hitlers, Idi Amins, Adolph Eichmanns and many other who were no different then the hate filled fools that are amongst us today? Let us call an Ace and Ace. There are crimes against mankind that justifies penalties that match those actions they bring to all our lives. Their worth is no greater then any other form of vermin that brings destruction and death to mass numbers of innocent victims. Forgiveness has its limits, and that is a fact.

We allow our present day leadership, to continue sliding under the rug those new laws that are so badly needed to right the wrongs from our long past birth of our nation.

We are a nation of laws, and in that, the faith based books have no place in governing our citizens. We can and must set down laws that represent equally all our citizens values as to what is right and wrong, acceptable and unacceptable in this era we live in. We have the ability and intellect to improve our everyday living standards, offer fair and equal justice to all our citizens. We are suppose to be a united nation, and we truly can be, if we demand it to be. Our nation and culture must never display any emblems, flags etc. that glorify or justify the actions of any organization who’s creed is based on hate for singled out groups of our citizens.

For those few, who wish to follow the path of hate, disrespect, dishonor and other rules that have no place in our American Dream and living standards, don’t let the door smack you on your way out.

We only need to make a simple law and a easy path in doing so, of making it a crime not to vote in all levels of elections across this nation. It’s time for every citizen to take part in building this nation, and not just the wealthy and powerful few or elected leadership. Yes, we will stumble here and there, but, millions of minds can bring to bear, wonderful, new and exciting levels of greatness too. Greater individual tolerance is the vaccine against bigotry.

We desperately need to regain the lost laughter and everyday joy of living in our country, and reduce the level of fears that we have been awakening to each start of our days. Truth and honesty needs to top our list of importance, and the demand for such should be guarded by each of us, and exposed when it tries to creep back into our daily lives.

Misguided intentions

Stacy Salvadori’s June 10 letter seems to be echoing the sentiments of Pat Robertson and the Religious Right who support the union of church and state as outlined in his book, “The New World Order.”

Obviously, these people have the best of intentions, but they are misguided. We already saw what happened in the Middle Ages when the church enlisted the powers of the state. Why would we want to repeat the same mistake?

The prophecies of Daniel and Revelation trace the rise and fall of the United States. The prophecies indicate that a new nation would arise around 1798. This nation would not be opposed to God and would have no king-like authority. It would rise to a position of worldwide influence. Even though our country values liberty and has become a democracy, the Bible indicates that a national crisis is going to panic lawmakers into taking desperate measures. In the end, religious freedom will be sacrificed. This will eventually become a worldwide event with many parallels to the religious persecutions of the Middle Ages. This will culminate in a series of plagues that will precede the long awaited Second Advent.
