Fire crews from around the county and beyond spent Thursday afternoon attacking a fire off Harvey Boulevard near Highway 20 in Clearlake Oaks. The incident, dubbed Harvey Fire, consumed about 8 acres and was at 50 percent containment, according to a report from CAL FIRE sent just after 5 p.m. The blaze was reported at about 3:30 p.m., pulling some firefighters from another incident near Borax Lake in Clearlake which consumed about 6 to 7 acres, according to early scanner reports. Law enforcement provided traffic control on Highway 20, and Harvey Boulevard was closed to all traffic except emergency response vehicles. Nearly 20 engine companies from Lake County fire departments, as well as CAL FIRE and Mendocino County responded to the Harvey Fire. In total, 120 fire personnel were at the scene, according to the CAL FIRE report, with four air tankers a helicopter and a water tender.
