Get ready for a busy two weeks of Little League All-Star baseball action in Lakeport as the District 2 minors (ages 9-10) and 50/70 (ages 11-13) tournaments get underway today at the Lake County Fairgrounds fields off Martin Street in Lakeport. Of the 13 teams entered in the minors tournament, three are from Lake County — Kelseyville, Southshore and tournament host Westshore. Five first-round games are on today’s schedule, including Southshore vs. Wheatland at 10 a.m. and Kelseyville vs. Olivehurst/Linda at 4 p.m. Westshore draws the winner of the Kelseyville-Olivehurst/Linda game in Sunday’s winner’s bracket quarterfinals at 5 p.m. Games in both the winner’s and loser’s brackets continue through July 9. The format is double elimination. In the 50/70 tournament, Westshore plays Colusa at 10 a.m. today. There is no admission to tournament games and a snack shack will be in operation throughout the tournament.
