Lake County >> North Coast Opportunities (NCO) and their Lake County Farm to School (LFS) program are in search of sponsors for the third annual “Feeding our Future: A celebration of healthy school food and child nutrition services”. This gathering of Lake County’s school food service staff will be hosted by NCO on Aug. 5 at Brassfield Estate Winery, and will bring together school food service staff from around Lake County for a day of culinary and nutrition training, networking and celebration.

In order to offer this event at no charge to school food service staff, NCO and LFS are reaching out for community support. Sponsor logos will appear on printed material available the day of the event, will be displayed on NCO’s main website, and will be projected at the beginning and end of each presentation. In addition, major sponsors – those pledging $300 or more – will be featured in even press releases. Additionally, as a non-profit organization, all donations are tax deductible to the extent recognized by law.

The purpose of the program is to increase local food and from-scratch cooking in school kitchens. This year’s Feeding Our Future event will include training on how best to incorporate crops grown right here in Lake County into school meals and snacks.

If you are interested in sponsoring or donating to this event, or if you have any questions, contact Elizabeth Archer, NCO executive assistant, at 467-3210. Donations will be accepted up to the date of the event, but to maximize your exposure it is recommended you commit to sponsorship by Wednesday, July 10. Also send a high-resolution logo so your participation can be promoted early and often.
