UKIAH >> Ukiah Valley Medical Center (UVMC) President and CEO Gwen Matthews announced on June 22 that UVMC is reducing pricing for a number of medical imaging services.
“Effective immediately, we lowered the majority of our prices for MRI, CT, Diagnostic X-ray and Ultrasound,” Matthews said. “We continue to offer 24/7 radiology services integrated with our My Adventist Health patient portal (online personal electronic health record) which is available to our patients within one to two business days. The majority of price reductions are between 11 and 48 percent,” she said.
Individuals have different deductibles depending on their insurance, but most will see a considerable decrease in out-of-pocket expenses for common procedures and other imaging studies. UVMC financial counselors are available to discuss individual insurance coverage by calling (707) 485-4538.
“This price reduction is consistent with our goal to be the region’s preferred imaging provider at the best value while continuing to provide excellent medical services close to home,” Matthews said. “This is a definite benefit for families and employers.”
UVMC offers medical imaging services for advanced diagnosis and treatment including open MRI, PET/CT used in the diagnosis of cancer and Alzheimer disease, CT scanning, nuclear medicine, digital X-ray, echocardiography services, ultrasound, digital mammography, and 3-D ultrasound. Medical imaging services are available at two locations; Ukiah Valley Medical Center, 245 Hospital Drive in Ukiah, and Mendocino Radiology, located at 1165 S. Dora St., Suite D, also in Ukiah.
