The holiday festivities are stretched far and wide throughout the county this year, with the events over several days. With a carnival in Clearlake, a street fair in Lakeport, and many parades and fireworks displays, this weekend should prove full of fun to those wanting to get the most out of the weekend.
Clearlake
Saturday: The annual Redbud Parade will start from Redbud Park at 11 a.m., making its way to Austin Park. Other holiday events include the annual Worm Races and the Show & Shine car show. A carnival opened Thursday and runs through Sunday. Parking is available at Haverty Field.
Clearlake Oaks
Tonight: The Maxine Sherman Memorial Annual Fireworks display begins at dusk at Wigeon Bay. Organizers recommend either viewing the show by boat, anchored east of Rattlesnake Island, or from Clarks Island.
Hidden Valley Lake
Sunday: The Hidden Valley Lake Association will celebrate Independence Day on July 5. Childrens’ contests will be held starting at noon, with a boat parade following at 3 p.m. Tony Neves will entertain from 6 to 9:30 p.m., and fireworks will begin at dusk, conditions permitting.
Kelseyville
Saturday: American Legion Post 194 will host their 40th Annual Fourth of July Barbecue from noon to 5 p.m. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chili beans, salad, dessert, and beverages will be served at a suggested donation of $10. The barbecue is at the American Legion Hall on 2nd and Gaddy Lane.
Lakeport
Saturday: Lakeport’s annual street fair and fireworks display begins at 10 a.m. on Park Street between 1st and 3rd and last through 10 p.m., with music playing at the Library Park Gazebo throughout. The annual Cardboard and Duct Tape Regatta launches at 10 a.m. The fireworks display will begin some time after 9 p.m.
Nice
Saturday: The Nice Annual Family 4th of July Parade will be held on Saturday4. The parade begins at 10 a.m. on Sayre to Lakeshore Blvd., and then to World Mark in Nice.
