Clearlake >> The FBI has been called to assist with the investigation of an alleged armed robbery that took place at Bank of the West Wednesday morning.
The two suspects involved managed to steal an undisclosed amount of money and remain at large.
Officers responded to the bank on Olympic Drive at about 9:41 a.m. They immediately began searching the area for a possible suspect vehicle described by bank employees as a gold colored SUV, similar to but not necessarily a Toyota 4Runner, which was last seen fleeing the scene north on Washington Street, Clearlake Sgt. Rodd Joseph stated.
The suspects were described as a man and woman pair wearing black hooded sweatshirts and sunglasses, he stated. The man was reportedly seen armed with a handgun.
