The owners of a home at Lupoyoma Ave. and Esplanade in Lakeport ran their automatic sprinkler system on Thursday morning, as they have been observed to do almost every morning. According to a Lakeport resolution put in place to comply with state water restrictions, homes and businesses with addresses ending in an even number may irrigate outdoor ornamental landscapes or turf on Tuesdays and Saturdays, while homes and businesses with addresses ending in an odd number may irrigate on Wednesdays and Sundays. There is no watering allowed on Thursdays. In addition, state regulations forbid irrigating outdoors during and within 48 hours following measureable rainfall. The State has authorized local agencies to fine property owners up to $500 a day for failure to implement the water use prohibitions and restrictions. – Dave Faries — Lake County Publishing
