Lakeport >> An AARP Driver Safety class will be held at the Lakeport Activity Senior Center on July 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with an hour for lunch.
This is an eight-hour course provided by trained AARP Driver Safety volunteers. Learn about defensive driving techniques, proven safety strategies, new traffic laws, rules of the road and more.
“Since 1979, AARP Driver Safety has helped over 15 million drivers stay safe, educated and confident behind the wheel. Every driver can benefit from a refresher,” said Julie E. Lee, vice president and national director of AARP Driver Safety.
Many participants may be eligible for a multi-year insurance discount after taking the course. Participants are encouraged to check with their insurance agent to see if they are eligible. There are no tests to pass; simply sign up and learn.
The cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members, with the class size limited to the first 15 participants. Be sure to have your AARP member number with you to receive the member discount.
