MIDDLETOWN >> Lake County Websites & Computer Repair in Middletown will host a computer workshop on July 25: Organizing and Backing Up Files on Your Computer. Participants will learn how to organize, copy, and move pictures, other files, and folders. The presenter, Mark Rudiger, will explore the different ways you can create a back-up of particular files and of your whole computer (for a system restore). He will discuss the relative merits of CD backups, flash drives, external hard drives, and the cloud.
“I have had many customers come into the shop with a computer whose hard drive has failed,” said Rudiger. “Many have made no back-ups. These customers often lose all their pictures and other important files. It’s so hard telling them that’s what happened. It is really important to back up your computer regularly.”
Rudiger is the owner of Lake County Websites & Computer Repair in downtown Middletown and has over 20 years of experience installing, trouble-shooting, and working with computers.
If you have a laptop, you may bring it along and connect to the high-speed internet. However your own computer is not necessary. The workshop will be held on Saturday, July 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. at 15642 Armstrong Street in Middletown in the Jazzercise Center (two blocks behind the post office).
The workshop has a $15 admission fee. You may sign up at www.markrudiger.com/workshop. For more information or to reserve your spot, call Mark Rudiger at 987-1923 or email web@lakecountywebsites.com. There will be a limited number of backup drives available for purchase at the workshop.
