Lower Lake High School’s new varsity quarterback, sophomore Hokulani Wickard (above), searches for an open target downfield during summer passing league action Monday evening at Gordon Sadler Field in Lower Lake where the host Trojans, Middletown and Kelseyville took turns on offense and defense. While Wickard is new to the varsity ranks, taking over for the graduated Isazah King, Kelseyville’s Noah Lyndall and Middletown’s Connor Armstrong are back for another season. Their backups — Kelseyville’s Logan Barrick and Middletown’s Robert Carey — also worked out during the session. Varsity as well as junior varsity players took part. The same three teams meet next Monday in Kelseyville at 5:30 p.m. Fans are welcome to watch.
