UKIAH >> Members of the United State military as well as first responders will be honored Saturday night at the Ukiah Speedway.
Sponsored by Ukiah Speedway and Anderson Logging Company, the Armed Forces Night grants free admission to all military members and first responders who present a valid ID at the gate. Grandstand entry for spectators age 5 and older is just $5.
Gates at the Ukiah Speedway open at 3 p.m. The Mark Weston Band will provide entertainment until 5 p.m. After the playing of the national anthem, the race cars will participate in a tribute parade lap honoring military personnel from all branches.
The racing card includes the PCS Late Models as well as the North State Modified Series cars, which are making their first and only appearance at Ukiah this season. Also taking the track are the Pro-4 modifieds and the Jammers.
“Every person who enjoys the freedoms that we have in this country owes a debt to the men and women who have served in our nation’s military,” track promoter David Furia said. “With the help of Anderson Logging Company, we are pleased to pay a tribute to the ones who fought for our freedom. We are also happy to support the Wounded Warrior Project. We raised money at the last race for the Wounded Warrior Project and will continue to accept donations at this race. We are extremely proud and honored that we can help those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.”
